Our first full week back at work following the Christmas and New Year break, and we had planned on completing our 2021 brochure. It is not to be, and the year has started a little slower than planned.
Our next holiday to Sidmouth in February is looking doubtful, we are follow Government guidelines and will notify everyone in due course.
The Christmas cards have come down and the office is looking a bit sparse. Cabinets are being tidied up and sorted into some sort of order – it will be so organised Stacey and Amy won’t find a thing, and David’s regular fogging means that even my desk is spic and span!
In the process of having a bit of a tidy up I came across some old paper work;
1956 A second hand Crossley half cab was bought for £150 from Stoddard’s’ of Cheadle
1990 Receipt for a new Duple coach at a cost of £80,000
1989/90 Photos – Leek Town returning from Wembley, coach driving around “the roundabout”
1994 A weeks holiday in Bournemouth in our 1994 brochure cost £142
2004 A local company collapsed, and we stepped in to transport ticket holders to a Tina Turner concert.
2009 The country is in recession and fewer people travelled abroad, but our UK coach holidays were very popular
2015 On our tour to The Scilly Isles, our passengers met Bill Oddie
Advert for a Day Trip to London costing £4
I’ll continue with the tidy up and see what other snippets I come across –
Keep safe everyone
